Description

Twenty-five years ago in the autumn, seventeen-year-old young mother Yip Sze Lui hurriedly left, leaving behind her young daughter Yip Mong Ching... During her years in the orphanage, her heart was always filled with endless longing and fantasies about her mother. Finally, in the late autumn when the yellow leaves were falling, mother and daughter reunited once again, their emotions surging turbulently within.

With the most sincere and natural performances, we delicately portray a scarred young girl and a mother full of guilt, sharing with the audience the power of forgiveness, acceptance, and letting go. Together, they journey through clear skies and return to the warmth of home.

Director and playwright, Wong Ka Ming, was moved and inspired by the sharing of a volunteer at an orphanage and created Going Home. The play was performed twice on small stages. The honest and straightforward story touched countless hearts. Encouraged and supported by enthusiastic audience feedback, a third official performance is made possible. Now, after careful refinement, the play has transformed into Going Home 2026.
